Exxpose Magazine’s founder/editor-in-chief CoCo Wade stepped into Atlanta after a 21-day west coast venture, only to be enlightened and intrigued by an invitation to participate as media, thereby capturing a moment, amidst the renowned Sheen Magazine Awards, which by observation exudes excellence in black media. Hosted at the historic Buckhead Theater, setting proved to be nothing shy of excellence in ambiance, pazazz, style and flair. The excitement loomed and filled the venue with vigor. Everyone was VIP, everyone was a star. An equal mix of humility and grace was felt throughout the evening.
The star-studded event, presumably, red carpet of the year evoked a night filled with eclectic glamour, a remarkable ambiance, vigor, confidence and ump deriving from the gens of black culture. The 2025 Sheen Magazine Awards exhibited the finest of elites including the likes of television personalities, music icons, and industry leaders. Honoring an enormity of talent, leaning on the backs of past, present and future icons. This year’s honorees included cover story Ali Siddiq, who was to receive the “Icon of the Year in Comedy” Award, alongside other pioneers and creators in Podcasting such as Mandii B & Weezy WTF and as well Female Athlete of the Year, Te’a Cooper. The insatiable and legendary greats. Mary Jane Girls were be celebrated, along with long-time music manager Adrian Miller, with honorees having been added and announced continually. Seemingly hand-picked by Sheen Magazine’s immaculate team of executives and creators, in attendance appeared to be catalysts who continue to infuse significant impacts in film, television, music, comedy, business, and beyond. Performing live this year: 803 Fresh with his #1 hit “Boots on the Ground”; Vedo the Singer, known as the Remix King, with popular records such as “You Got It” and “Fine Shyt”; Khia, blazing the stage with her familiar favorite “My Neck, My Back”; and legendary songwriter J-Rell performing live. Also performing will be Grammy-nominated songwriter Alvin Garrett while other industry greats such as Keith Mitchell of the iconic R&B group After 7, Damian Hall of Guy and Trina Braxton lit up the room.
